Day 3 Part III--Alcatraz Island
The day was windy and Alacatraz Island felt like a ghost island home now to the many seagulls that litter the grounds with their dtroppings. The actual prison area was a daunting sight, with cells measuring about as long as a king-size bed and a half. If you go, get the audio tape tour. The island is quite a hike with many up and down paths and stairwells. Imagine being locked up in one of these cells...and looking out across the bay to San Francisco. The site of the city is enough to drive you insane! Next stop Santa Rosa visiting our friends the Scarbroughs.
